About Us

EXNORA International is a non-governmental environmental service organization started in 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, Mr. M. B. Nirmal, a social activist. It focuses on preserving nature and preventing environmental degradation. The name EXNORA is derived from excellent, novel and radical ideas in solving environmental problems by involving those who caused the problem. This is a good organisation in saving the environment.

Mission

Educating about Ecological factors to the students because the future belongs to the people who prepare for it today.

EXNORA in Our College

The EXNORA club of Idhaya College for Women is modelled on the EXNORA movement in Chennai. This Club was initiated to make students aware of the Ecological and Environmental status of the local area and the College campus. Ecological and Environmental sensitisation being one of the goals of the College, this club works towards the establishment of this goal. The EXNORA was inaugurated on 1st January 2007. This club is functioning in our College with the voluntary membership of more than 250 students every year. The students have a positive attitude to work voluntarily for a social cause. The EXNORA unit of our College undertakes several socially relevant and useful projects every year towards creating awareness among the College students on various issues relating to environmental sustainability.

Future Plan

  • Reduction of Global Warming.
  • Student EXNORA extends awareness on the need for a clean and pollution free environment.
  • Students are encouraged to plant saplings within the campus and outside.
  • We motivate the students to reduce the use of plastics, reusing the things and to recycle the possible things for preventing the environment to ensure the quality of life.

  • We share the updated news about Ecological Changes and to make students aware of taking Remedial measures.
  • We give awareness programme to students through PPT, Seminars and Poem.
